The Digital Design program integrates aesthetic, creative, and critical thinking with expertise in advanced electronic media. Configured as an interdisciplinary arts and design laboratory, Digital Design offers a hands-on education combining new art technologies and design concepts within a concentrated theoretical framework.
Through an interdisciplinary approach, the Digital Design program produces artists and designers who will use technology in innovative ways and promotes an understanding of the cultural impact and uses of digital technologies.
Students graduating from the Digital Design program will:
Demonstrate proficiency in all current media technologies relevant to the field of Digital Design and mastery of at least one media type
Apply visual research techniques to design and artistic processes using observation, theory, and deconstruction
Have the ability to communicate their design intentions through visual, verbal, literary and time-based media
Develop a deep understanding of their responsibility and the power of design to influence society, commerce and culture
Perfect the ability and understanding to work collaboratively with people in various disciplines
Possess a deep understanding of professional practice and the ability to promote themselves and their clients in a professional manner
Broaden their passion and enjoyment for creative problem solving, critical thinking, technology and design.
